Kanodar is a census town in Banaskantha district in the Indian state of Gujarat. 130 Kilometers North from Ahmedabad. The population is split quite evenly between males and females.
Education:
It has four Gujarati primary-middle and High schools, one English middle school that teaches up to the tenth grade, and one Gujarati middle-secondary school. Computer studies is a part of the curriculum in these schools.
Kanodar's economy has historically been known for hand loom production and textiles; more recently, they have found a niche market in reconditioning jeeps.

Demographics:

As of 2001 India census GRI India, Kanodar had a population of 11,130. Males constitute 50% of the population and females 50%. Kanodar has an average literacy rate of 74%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 80%, and female literacy is 69%. In Kanodar, 15% of the population is under 6 years of age. I was one of the founder trustees, the framer of Constitution and Chairman of the first Board of the local NGO - “The Guardian Trust, Kanodar”. I worked for first seven years in team spirit with my fellow trustees to achieve the goals of the Trust and now I am retired. Here, I am pleased to disclose one of the objects of the Trust which will be self explanatory to my Readers and particularly those NRIs and PRs of Kanodar residing elsewhere representing young generation to know about this village, its community, its culture and many other aspects of its heritage descending from the ancestors for the last half millennium since the foundation of this village by Kaano (Kanji) Patel whose name reflects in the word ‘KANODAR’.  Read more...
